Vietnam has concluded bilateral negotiations with all relevant countries during the meetings of ministers from 12 member countries of the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) in Maui, Hawaii from July 28 to 31, according to Vietnam's Ministry of Industry and Trade.

The Vietnamese delegation, headed by Minister of Industry and Trade Vu Huy Hoang, took part in the event with a pro-active and constructive stance to protect the country's interests and readily collaborate with other countries to conclude the negotiations for the benefit of all sides, reported Nhan Dan (the People) online newspaper, quoting the ministry's announcement on Tuesday.

Trade representatives from 12 Pacific Rim countries last Friday failed to reach a final TPP deal that would cover about 40 percent of global economic output, with major sticking points remaining in the areas of market access and intellectual property.

The TPP talks involve Australia, Brunei, Canada, Chile, Japan, Malaysia, Mexico, New Zealand, Peru, Singapore, the United States and Vietnam.
