Bus rollover in Gansu kills at least 10
At least 10 people died when a bus overloaded with migrant workers fell on its side in Gannan Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture in northwest China's Gansu Province around 8pm yesterday.
The bus, from Yunnan Province, was heading to Gaolan County in Lanzhou, capital of Gansu Province. It left the road and rolled on its side on the G213 highway.
Eight bus passengers were pronounced dead at the scene and two people died on the way to the hospital. Four were severely injured.
The bus was carrying 61 passengers but has a maximum listed capacity of 55 people. There were 12 minors among passengers on the bus.
The cause is under further investigation.
