Japanese citizen Misao Okawa, the world's oldest person, celebrates her 116th birthday. She was recognized as the oldest person in the world by the Guinness Book of Records in June, 2013.

Misao Okawa got this title after the death of another Japanese citizen Jiroemon Kimura, age 117, who had been holding the title of the world's oldest person.

Misao Okawa was born on March 5, 1898. Her father was an owner of a kimono shop. She gave birth to three children; two of them are also long-livers.

Misao Okawa has always said that she doesn't have any serious problems with her health.

"I've always eaten a lot of tasty food. Perhaps, this is the secret of longevity. You should also have a good night sleep," Okawa says.
