Uzbekistan's gross domestic product (GDP) grew 8.1 percent in the first half of this year, Prime Minister Shavkat Mirziyaev said Tuesday.
Mirziyaev told a government meeting that the country's industrial output increased 7 percent during the January-June period, while agricultural output advanced 7.1 percent.
Inflation did not exceed the forecast during same period, Mirziyaev said.
The government predicts a 8.2-percent GDP growth for 2012, in line with the average of 8 percent in recent years.
The Asian Development Bank (ADB) forecast in April that Uzbekistan's GDP would grow 8 percent and inflation would be 9.5 percent this year. |
