Australian building approvals fall 2.5 pct in June |

The number of dwellings approved in Australia fell 2.5 percent to 13,336 units in June, following a rise of 27.0 percent in the previous month, data released on Tuesday by the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) showed.
In the year to June, Australian residential building approvals were up 10.2 percent, according to the ABS.
Dwelling approvals fell in June in Victoria but increased in Western Australia, Queensland, Tasmania, New South Wales and South Australia, the ABS said.
The value of total building approved fell 9.8 percent in June after rising for two months.
Economists' forecasts had centered on a 14.6 percent fall in building approvals in June. |
