The benchmark index of the Indian equities market opened lower Monday with the 30-scrip sensitive index of the Bombay Stock Exchange. Sensex, opened at 16,620.44 points, 210.64 points or 1.25 percent down from the previous close of 16,831.08 points.
This followed that the Sensex slumped to below the psychological level of 17,000 during trade last Friday. |
