U.S. stocks plunge on euro concerns

U.S. stock opened broadly lower on Monday as investors were concerned about future euro debt situation after European election results.

Although investors in U.S. equity market felt no surprise over the election results in France, they still worried that the new leaders in these countries might make some change on future austerity policies.

Meanwhile, investors believed that Greece will have no problem adhering to the austerity measures, but the country' s economy may face more uncertainties. h The Dow Jones industrial average declined 168.32 points, or 1.27 percent, at 13,038.27. The Standard & Poor's 500 was down 0.96 points, or 0.06 percent, to 1,368.16. The Nasdaq Composite Index dropped 3.94 points, or 0.14 percent, to 2,952.18.
