MOC fines Internet firms
China's Ministry of Culture(MOC) released a list of 14 Internet companies that were found to have games containing content that go against official regulations, news portal chinanews.com reported Thursday.
Ten out of the 14 companies listed have been fined 113,000 yuan ($18,091) in total and the other four companies are under further investigation and will be fined soon, according to the report.
MOC released the list in a bid to clean up online content. The recent investigation mainly focused on mobile games platforms, with popular platforms such as wandoujia.com and 91.com being fined for pornographic content, the report said.
