Mozambican parliament on Friday paid homage to South Africa's former leader Nelson Mandela.

Speaker of parliament Veronica Macamo said Mozambique, South Africa and the world lost a great man.

"It was with profound sadness that we learnt about the death of the apartheid icon Nelson Mandela, his death represents for all us an irreplaceable loss. Right know in the name of the entire assembly we want to present to Mandela's family, the South African government and its people our deep condolences and express our solidarity," said Macamo.
