Georgeta Dinu, the airlines communications director, said that avoiding Ukrainian airspace is a measure taken after the crash of a Malaysia Airlines passenger plane in eastern Ukraine on Thursday.

"TAROM will operate on a normal schedule, but will avoid the Ukrainian airspace, which anyway is closed," said Georgeta Dinu, adding that the TAROM has a flight from Bucharest to Moscow on Friday afternoon.

Ukrainian authorities has closed all of the Eastern Ukrainian air space since the Malaysian flight crash, Eurocontrol, a European civil organisation working for the safety of air navigation, said in a statement on Thursday.

A Boeing 777 passenger plane of the Malaysia Airlines crashed in eastern Ukraine en route from Amsterdam to Kuala Lumpur earlier Thursday, with 295 people onboard feared dead.

The Ukrainian government and rebels in the region accused each other of shooting down the plane.
