Indonesia's disaster relief agency has prepared humanitarian assistance to help the victims of super typhoon Haiyan in the Philippines that left thousands of casualties and massive infrastructure damages, top official of the agency said here Thursday.

Head of the Indonesian Disaster Management and Mitigation Agency (BNPB) Syamsul Maarif said that the assistance included doctors, medical personnel and even field hospitals.

Maarif said that the dispatch of the humanitarian aid is commonly done after the disaster-hit-country requests the assistance.

"It has to be an appeal from them (Philippine authorities). But until now there is no such request," said Maarif at the State Palace.

Despite there is no request, "we have prepared medical men, doctors and even field hospitals," he said.

Maarif did not elaborate further on the number of the doctors and the medical staff.

Indonesia has sent 2 million U.S. dollars of financial aid to the Philippines, and a number of logistic and medicine and others relief assistance to the disaster-hit-area in the Philippines, he added.

"Our planes have delivered aids to the Philippines and will soon return to bring other logistics, fast foods, water purification devices, power generators, and medicines to the Philippines," said Maarif.
