Ashton: EU will not impose sanctions against Ukraine
Political unrest in the Ukraine has remained the dominant issue at the Munich Security Conference. The European Union's Foreign Policy Chief, Catherine Ashton, defended the EU's decision not to put in place sanctions against Ukraine. She said there are other ways in which the Union could help resolve the situation.
"It's really important, first and foremost, that the violence in Ukraine stops and that they move to a constructive dialogue, look at the issues of constitutional reform, the role of parliament and moving forward, so that the people can have faith in the transparency and openness of the process." Said Catherine Ashton, EU Foreign Policy Chief.
