Egyptian FM condemns violence in Syria |

Egyptian Foreign Minister Mohammed Kamel Amr condemned Wednesday the violence in Syria and stressed Egypt's refusal to use violence against the Syrian people.
"It's time to meet the Syrians' demands. It's time to achieve the demanded change," Amr said in a statement, stressing Egypt's support for the Arab initiative and its refusal to military intervention in Syria.
The Arab League (AL) on Sunday called on the United Nations to form joint UN-AL peacekeeping forces for Syria to stop the violence against civilians in the turmoil-hit country, said a resolution by Arab foreign ministers in Egypt's capital Cairo.
The Egyptian foreign minister further added that the international community should provide support to the Arab initiative, underlining that it is time for change in Syria before the situation worsen to affect the regional stability. |
