Khartoum suspends ICRC activities in Sudan
The International Committee of the Red Cross said Saturday it was notified by the Sudanese authorities to suspend its activities in Sudan.
"The ICRC has received a letter from the Sudanese Humanitarian Aid Commission (HAC) asking the organization to suspend all its activities in Sudan as of Feb. 1," an ICRC source told Xinhua on condition of anonymity.
"Accordingly, we have suspended our activities," the source added, noting that the reason behind the suspension was relating to the ICRC work plan for 2014.
He further said that the ICRC embarked on dialogue with the HAC to find a solution for the difference.
