Cuban leader Raul Castro and General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee Nguyen Phu Trong agreed to advance bilateral relations, official press reported.
During their meeting on Monday, Castro and Nguyen stressed the "excellent" state of the relations between the two nations, and exchanged views on regional and international issues, the state-run NNTV said.
Nguyen arrived in Cuba on Sunday and will stay through Thursday.
Cuba and Vietnam have maintained good relations since the establishment of their diplomatic ties in 1960. Bilateral trade reached 269 million U.S. dollars in 2010. |
