More suspects other than the previously claimed four may be involved in Tuesday's blasts in Bangkok, senior police officers said Thursday.

Witnesses and surveillance cameras indicate a fifth suspect was involved in Tuesday's blasts in Bangkok, Pansiri Prapawat, Thailand's deputy police chief said.

But Winai Thongsong, Bangkok's police chief, was quoted by the Nation Channel as saying that he was very certain that at least six people were involved in the incident. But he did not give details on the two additional suspects.

Prewpan said Thai authorities are seeking the extradition of an Iranian suspect who fled to Kuala Lumpar and is being detained by Malaysian police.

Prewpan added that Thai police had stepped up security at the Israeli embassy, which is temporarily closed. Phone calls to the embassy were not answered.

Thai police had previously said there were four suspects, two of whom were arrested by Thai police and one in the custody of Malaysian police. A woman suspect, who rented the blasted house, is still at large.
