| 3.7 million illicit drug users across Thailand |

A total of 3.9 million people, or 6 percent of Thailand's population, were found using drug, showed the results released on Thursday of a recent poll by Assumption University (ABAC).
The majority, or 1 million out of 3.7 million, were found in the North while about 200,000 drug users were in Bangkok.
ABAC research center also conducted a survey on illicit drug situation in 17 provinces across the nation during March 15-April 18.
Asked about drug using situation, 65.7 percent of the respondents said they witnessed drug using in their community or in the neighborhood.
Besides, 64.9 percent are unsatisfied with government's drug enforcement policy, and said that the government needs to improve its performance. |
