Thai PM heads to Bahrain for official visit

Thai Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra left for Bahrain on Sunday for an official visit between May 13 and 15, aiming to boost bilateral ties and cooperation in trade and medical services.

Her visit to Bahrain is the first official trip to the Middle East and will mark the two countries' 35th anniversary of diplomatic relations this year.

Accompanied by some 50 Thai businesspersons from 40 firms and 15 associations from various fields, Yingluck will meet King Hamad bin Isa al-Khalifa and Prince Shaikh Salman bin Hamad bin Isa al- Khalifa.
