Thailand's state-owned Transport Company has stepped up security at its bus terminals in Bangkok after a bag of arms was found on a bus last weekwend, the company said on Monday.
Security preparations have been boosted at all the bus terminals in the capital city, particularly Mo Chit, according to the company.
A bag containing hand grenades and an AK47 assault rifle were discovered on a bus arriving from the northeastern province of Nakhon Ratchasima to the terminal in northern Bangkok crowded with travellers returning home Sunday afternoon, which was the end of the Asanha Bucha and Khao Pansa Day holidays.
The terminal was closed and evacuated for several hours.
The case is still under investigation. |
