Police seize 1.7 mln meth pills in central Thailand

Thai police seized more than 1.7 million methamphetamine pills at a house in central province of Samut Sakhon, Bangkok Post online reported on Friday.

Police seized the drug which have an estimated street value of 500 million baht (16.32 million U.S. dollars) on late Thursday night and arrested four drug suspects in Samut Sakhon's Krathum Baen district.

Police said they earlier received a tip-off that a lot of illegal pills were being smuggled from northern Thailand.

The four suspects told police the drugs hidden in the house were brought there by a major drug network in the North and they were to be sold to different areas in the country.
