Indian PM cancels Japan trip
Last Updated(Beijing Time):2012-11-14 21:31

Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh has canceled his trip to Japan, a spokesperson for the Indian External Affairs Ministry said Wednesday.

The Indian Prime Minister was slated to embark on his four-day Japan tour Thursday, during which he was supposed to meet Japanese Premier Yoshihiko Noda.

But Singh's visit has been called off as dates for December 2012 general elections in Japan are likely to be announced by the end of this week, the spokesperson said.

However, the Indian prime minister will travel to Cambodia on Nov. 18 to attend the ASEAN-India and East Asia Summits.
