Fire at hotel in southern Thailand |

A fire at touristic southern island of Phuket on Wednesday partly destroyed a hotel, with no report of people injured, Bangkok Post online reported.
Disaster Prevention and Relief of Phuket's Patong Muang Municipality received a report on Wednesday morning of a fire at Royal Phawadee Village, a boutique hotel, located in Kathu district. There were no reports of any injuries.
A total of 10 fire engines from surrounding districts were brought in to help put out the blaze. It took them over an hour to control.
According to emergency workers, the fire started in a three- floor building which houses offices and a wood-theme restaurant and spread to adjacent buildings.
Five guest rooms at the hotel were destroyed and some accommodation at a neighbouring inn was also damaged.
The cause of the fire was still being investigated and damages still being assessed. |
