6.5-magnitude quake hits Tonga -- USGS

An earthquake measuring 6.5 on the Richter scale jolted Tonga at 20:46:59 GMT on Saturday, the U. S. Geological Survey said.

The epicenter, with a depth of 215.00 km, was initially determined to be at 18.0000 degrees south latitude and 175.0000 degrees west longitude.
