French Foreign Minister Laurent Fabius announced that France is going to vote in favor of the Palestinians becoming a UN "non-member observer state," local channel France 24 reported Tuesday.
The Palestinians' status in the UN is currently a permanent observer.
Palestinian National Authority (PNA) President Mahmoud Abbas plans to submit a bid to upgrade the status of the Palestinians at the UN on Thursday.
"France will vote yes" when the question is asked at the UN General Assembly, Fabius told the lower house of parliament. |
