Last Updated(Beijing Time):2012-11-28 10:23

France's consumer confidence index about the country's economic and financial situation was unchanged in November from the previous month, the national statistics bureau Insee said Tuesday.

Household appreciation for their past financial balance went up slightly and improved by 1 point at minus 24 for the future compared to October's data. Their willingness to make major purchases was stable, the Insee report showed.

As to unemployment rate, less people predicted an increase of unemployment in the future, but their concerns over labor market remained above its long term average, according to the report.

Household opinions showed more anticipation of slowing inflation pressure and more willingness to save as consumers saving capacity index in the next 12 months grew by 2 points, and the intention index stood at 38 points, up by 4 points.

France, Europe's second largest economy, is currently in a battle to narrow its widening budget deficit and boost economic growth.

It has set a 0.3-percent growth target this year, and pledged to narrow down its deficit to 4.5 percent of GDP this year and further to 3 percent in 2013, by imposing high tax on the rich.
