Slovenia to send 66-member contingent to Sochi Olympics

Slovenia will send 66 athletes, comprising of 16 women and 50 men, to the Sochi Winter Olympics, it was announced Thursday.

The Slovenian Olympic team, including skier Tina Maze, one of the most successful alpine skiers of all time, will compete in 10 different sports at the Games.

This is the largest ever Slovenian contingent at the Winter Games, said the Olympics Committee.

The 2014 Winter Olympics, officially the 22nd Winter Games, will be hosted by Russian Federation for the first time. The former Soviet Union hosted the 1980 Summer Games in Moscow.
