Polish police on Monday said the emailed bomb alarm that had prompted evacuation of staff from several government bodies' buildings and an ensuing bomb check at the sites proved false.
Mariusz Mrozek, from the Warsaw police Headquarters, told local press that polce are currently searching for the email sender.
Police in Warsaw on Monday checked several ministries' buildings after a morning bomb alarm. Ministry staff were evacuated from the buildings or barred from entering.
Bomb checks were carried out in the health, infrastructure, defense, economy, finance, education and culture ministries, a military clinic and the Intraco tower that houses several government agencies.
Outside the capital city, police on Monday also demanded evacuation at 119 schools in the Zywiec region in Silesia of south Poland due to similar alarms. Bomb warnings have also been received by customs authorities in Cieszyn of south Poland.
