Radoslaw Sikorski and Sergei Lavrov met in Warsaw on Thursday to discuss cross-border traffic, visa liberalisation and the return of the wreckage of the Polish Presidential plane that crashed in Smolensk, Russia in 2010.

The two leaders were chairing a meeting of the Polish-Russian Committee of Cooperation Strategy.

Sikorski emphasised that relations between the two countries on social, business and political levels are better than the media in both countries suggest. He also noted that Russia is Poland's fifth biggest export market and second largest for imports.

Lavrov stated that Moscow wants to provide a favorable environment for Russian companies to operate in Poland and Polish companies in Russia. He said, "We will support the expansion of the trade structure, particularly technologically-advanced manufacturing. We will stress the development of small and medium-size businesses."

Earlier on Thursday, the two ministers signed a joint declaration called the "2020 Program in Polish-Russian relations", which details Poland-Russia cooperation.

Sikorski assured the Russian foreign minister that Poland is a keen supporter of visa regulation liberalisation between the EU and all its eastern neighbors, including Russia.

Sikorski yet again requested that the Presidential plane wreckage be returned to Poland. In reply, Lavrov said that it would be returned once the Russian investigation had been completed, probably in April 2014.
