One person died and another 26 people were injured in a serious road accident in Slovenia on Sunday afternoon, police spokesperson Anita Leskovec said on Monday.
About 120 people, 47 cars, three lorries and a bus were involved in the crash on the A1 motorway near the town of Postojna, about 50 kilometers southwest of the capital of Ljubljana.
It was the biggest car pile-up in Slovenian history in terms of the number of people involved, said the police.
Police have attributed the serious traffic accident to poor visibility caused by heavy snow and strong winds. Police urged drivers to exercise utmost caution when snowfall is continuing in western parts of the country.
