Algeria's economic delegation arrived Monday in Baghdad to participate in the meeting of the Arab ministers of finance and economy ahead of Baghdad summit scheduled on March 29, an official Iraqi television reported.

"The Algerian economic delegation, headed by the Minister of Trade Mustapha Benbada, arrived in Baghdad to participate in Tuesday's ministerial meeting of Arab Finance and Economy," the state-run Iraqia TV channel said.

The Algerian delegation is the first of Arab delegations to arrive in the Iraqi capital and other delegations are expected to converge here successively.

The Arab summit will be held on March 29, but will be preceded by a meeting for Arab economy ministers on March 27 and Arab foreign ministers on March 28.

Earlier, Baghdad said it has completed its preparation for the summit and is ready to receive the Arab leaders.

Iraq sees the summit as a significant milestone in its history that would lead the country to play a powerful and positive role in the Arab world.
