Last Updated(Beijing Time):2012-07-01 15:57

Iranian foreign minster and his Swedish counterpart have discussed the latest developments pertaining to Iran's nuclear issue and put the emphasis on diplomatic solutions, the Press TV reported Sunday.

In a telephone conversation with Swedish Foreign Minister Carl Bildt on Saturday, Iranian Foreign Minister Ali-Akbar Salehi referred to the latest talks between the Islamic republic and the P5+1 -- the five permanent members of the UN Security Council plus Germany -- in the Russian capital of Moscow.

Both sides should seize the opportunity and follow serious talks in order that the negotiations will yield results, Salehi said.

Bildt also urged diplomacy on Iran's nuclear program.

During intensive talks in Moscow on June 18 and June 19, Iran and the P5+1 did not sign any agreements, but agreed to meet again in Turkey's Istanbul in early July at the expert level.
