Lebanon's Social Affairs Minister Wael Abu Faour said Friday that Lebanon is unable to meet the needs of Syrian refugees any more, the MTV channel reported.
In an interview with the TV channel, Abou Faour said the number of Syrian nationals who entered Lebanon within the last few days is approximately 20,000 according to figures of the Higher Refugee Committee.
Abou Faour said that urgent medical conditions were being taken care of, upon demands by Prime Minister Najib Mikati.
However, "the Higher Relief Committee suffers lack of funds. The funding parties today are some local associations, municipalities, and international institutions," he added.
"I have received calls from international institutions and embassies which expressed willingness to extend support with this regard, provided that Lebanon requests help," Abou Faour said. |
