Tunisia condemns Israeli attacks on Gaza
Last Updated(Beijing Time):2012-11-15 22:42

The Tunisian government condemned Thursday the killing of the head of the armed wing of Islamic Hamas movement, Ahmed al-Jaabari, and the assassination of other Palestinian militants following the Israeli attacks on Gaza since Wednesday, the official TAP press agency reported.

Israel's aggression "runs counter to all human rights and international conventions," a statement released by the Tunisian government said, adding that Tunisia called on the international community "to compel Israel to cease hostilities against the unarmed Palestinian people."

At least 11 Palestinians were killed and 115 wounded in the latest wave of Israeli attacks on Gaza.

Meanwhile, Hamas militants also responded with retaliatory fire. A rocket was launched early Thursday morning from Gaza on the southern Israeli town of Kiryat Malachi, killing three people and injuring two others.
