Mohamed Saad al-Katatni, chairman of Egypt's Freedom and Justice Party, praised on Monday the Palestinians' resistance against Israel during his solidarity visit to the Gaza Strip.

"The choice of the Palestinian resistance is our choice as well, " said al-Katatni, who is also speaker of the dissolved People's Assembly and a leading figure in the Muslim Brotherhood, at a press conference held in al-Shifa hospital in Gaza City. He was visiting some wounded people in the Israeli aerial offensive in Gaza that has been going on since Wednesday.

Al-Katatni arrived earlier Monday in Gaza via Rafah crossing, with a delegation comprising senior members of Egyptian parties.

The health ministry in Gaza said that 27 Palestinians were killed in Israeli attacks Monday, putting the death toll in Gaza since Wednesday at 100.
