Domracheva wins women's 15km individual

Darya Domracheva won the women's 15km individual and became the first athlete from Belarus to win multiple gold medals at an Olympic Winter Games on Friday.

Selina Gasparin of Switzerland took the silver, while Nadezhda Skardino, also of Belarus, finished third.

Domracheva, who won the 10km pursuit on Tuesday, has won the hearts of the folks back home.

"I think it means a lot for the whole country," she said. "I hope that I inspire other people."

The 27-year-old's performance certainly inspired Skadino, whose bronze medal gave Belarus a first look at a podium with two of its athletes on it at an Olympic Winter Games, while Gasparin's silver was Switzerland's first ever Olympic medal in biathlon.
