The benchmark index of the Indian equities market opened flat Tuesday with the 30-sccrip sensitive index of the Bombay Stock Exchange, Sensex, opening at 16,915.71 points, 3 points or 0.02 percent up from the previous close of 17, 912.71 points.

The Sensex has seen an unstable trend over the past few weeks due to unknown economic perspective and possible downgrading of India's financial entities and growth perspective by international agencies.
