One injured in railway station explosion in eastern India

A train driver was injured Thursday when a bomb exploded near the Patna junction railway station in Bihar, eastern India, police said.

According to the police, a crude bomb exploded near the running room of the junction at Mithapur gumti, injuring the train driver.

"The injured train driver is being treated and his condition is out of danger," an official said.

A team of the Railway Protection Force and the Government Railway Police (GRP) have begun investigating the incident.

"Security forces have intensified vigilance at Patna junction following the bomb explosion and are taking all measures to provide security to the railway station in view of the incident," a GRP official said.
