Last Updated(Beijing Time):2012-03-11 14:38

At least 10 people were killed and 30 others injured as a bomb blast hit a funeral in Pakistan's northwestern provincial capital of Peshawar on Sunday morning, local Urdu TV Channel Express reported.

The bomb attached to a motorcycle was detonated at a funeral in Badabher area, several kilometers from Peshawar, the capital of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, the reports said.

Local Urdu TV channel DAWN reported the blast was a suicide one. No group has claimed responsibility for the incident.

Badabher area is famous for anti-Taliban 'Lashkar' or volunteers, who support security forces against the militants. It was not clear if any leaders of the peace committee who are routinely targeted by the militants attended the funeral.

Ambulances were sent to the area to shift the injured to hospitals.

According to local sources, residents also shifted the injured with their own vehicles.

Doctors said 15 injured were brought to the main hospital in Peshawar. Emergency was declared in the Lady Reading Hospital to treat the injured. Three injured were in critical condition.
