Indian security forces have killed five left-wing rebels and injured a few others during an encounter in Gajapati district of the eastern state of Orissa, according to local media report Thursday.
The Times of India newspaper electronic edition said two policemen were also injured during the clash which took place on Wednesday.
The gun-battle took place at Bhaliagada forest in Mohana's Gobindapur panchayat area when a police patrolling party came across a extreme left-wing Naxal camp. Five bodies were recovered from the spot, according to the report. |
