Last Updated(Beijing Time):2013-01-18 21:28

Indian Army chief General Bikram Singh Friday said that "things are under control" at the international border with Pakistan in the disputed territory of Kashmir in the wake of recent military tensions between the two countries.

"Things are under control on the Line of Control (LoC), the international border, and the Indian Army is very professional. We are handling it in a befitting manner," General Singh told the media in Bhopal, capital city of the central state of Madhya Pradesh.

The Army chief was in Bhopal to visit the family of one of the two deceased soldiers who were brutally killed in recent skirmishes along the LoC allegedly by Pakistani Army on Jan. 6.

Pakistan has denied that its troops beheaded the Indian Army soldiers and accused India of initiating aggression at the border, violating ceasefire in place since 2003, and killing three of its troops. India has also refuted the charges.

Kashmir has been a flash point between the two countries who have fought at least three major wars in the last 65 years.
