Fire, explosion fatalities up in Vietnam in first 10 months
A total of 3,776 fires and explosions broke out across Vietnam in the first 10 months of this year, killing 91 people and injuring 235 others.
The fires and explosions also caused property losses of some 1,600 billion Vietnamese dong (69.5 million U.S. dollars), the country's Fire Prevention and Fight Department said Monday.
In October alone, Vietnam faced 368 fires and explosions which claimed nine human lives, injured 11 people, and left losses of 104 billion Vietnamese dong (4.5 million U.S. dollars).
In the first 10 months of last year, the Southeast Asian country suffered 3,464 fires and explosions, which left 85 people dead and 220 others injured, and caused losses of 1,500 billion Vietnamese dong (65.2 million U.S. dollars).
