FBI director in Georgia for Sochi games safety issues
The director of the U.S. Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) is visiting the South Caucasus country of Georgia on safety issues, the Tbilisi-based U.S. ambassador said on Wednesday.
U.S. ambassador Richard Norland told local media that FBI chief Robert Mueller is holding meetings with Georgian officials about the safety issues concerning participating athletes.
"Robert Mueller holds consultative meetings in order to ensure better safety of the athletes participating in the Olympiad," said the ambassador.
The U.S. FBI chief is scheduled to meet with Georgian prime minister, interior minister and justice minister during his stay in the country.
