French President Emmanuel Macron's popularity plumbed to a new low in November as his package of reforms and fiscal drive to transform the country fell short to win public support, a survey showed on Thursday.

Macron who has been in office since May 2017, received a 27 percent approval rating in the monthly poll by Elabe, down by three percentage points for the third consecutive month.

The pollster noted that this month's approval ratings were the worst score for the 40-year-old head of state who failed to meet his goals of creating more wealth and reversing the rise in jobless claims.

For September-November period, Macron lost 9 points, it added.

Having won France's recent election with 66.1 percent of the votes on a reformist project to modernize eurozone's second leading power, Macron vowed to serve the country well and bring change after he had shaken the country's political landscape.

18 months later, he changed labor code, proposed new education system and planned to reform rail sector and institutions that have brought workers and students out in protests.

Further demonstrations are planned on Nov.17 after drivers called for blockades and go-slow operations across the country to express their refusal of the tax and a rise in the diesel price, the most commonly used car fuel in France.
