Three Palestinians wounded in Israeli raid
Last Updated(Beijing Time):2012-03-28 09:20

Three Palestinian brothers and an Israeli soldier were wounded Tuesday during clashes in the West Bank, witnesses and security sources said.

The clashes broke out during an Israeli army raid in Ramon village near the central city of Ramallah, according to the witnesses.

The Israeli forces stormed a house in order to arrest three Palestinian brothers, who apparently resisted the detention violently and the Israeli soldiers responded with fire, wounding the three.

One of the brothers was seriously injured and taken to an Israeli hospital. The two other Palestinians were moved to a Palestinian hospital in Ramallah.

An Israeli soldier was lightly wounded afterwards during clashes between villagers and the Israeli forces.

Israel Radio said that the army has opened an investigation into the incident.

Israel occupied the West Bank in 1967, but withdrew the forces from most of its cities in 1995. However, the Israeli army operates on a daily basis in Palestinian-controlled areas of the West Bank, conducting raids and arrests.
