Lebanon's Minister of Social Affairs Wael Abou Faour asserted Monday the Lebanese government's commitment to its duty in helping the Syrian displaced who fled their country to Lebanon because of the security situation, the National News Agency reported.

Abou Faour said following a meeting with Prime Minister Najib Mikati at the Grand Serail accompanied by Ninette Kelly representative for the Higher Refugees Council of the United Nations (UNHRC)", we agreed with the Prime Minister to venture into contacts on the Arab and international levels to ask for helping the Lebanese government assume its duty especially that we received in the past days many calls from more than a side and foundation hereby confirming their capability to assist the Lebanese state in this respect".

He added "we clinched the commitment of the Lebanese government to assume its obligation with respect to helping the displaced Syrians who fled into Lebanon due the events taking place in Syria ".

Abou Faour hoped that this plan would "be ratified in the coming few days and it would enable Lebanon to get the financial aid aimed at helping the displaced".

The Minister said that a relevant meeting would be held in the coming few days for the concerned ministers to put forth a joint work plan for all the ministries.
