Schools have been closed since Wednesday in 14 Turkish provinces: Balikesir, Giresun, Ordu, Samsun, Rize, Tokat, Bartin, Konya, Artvin, Bursa, Elazig, Karabuk, Nevsehir and Kilis provinces due to heavy snow.

The heavy snowfall started on the night of Dec. 10 in Istanbul and will continue until Friday, according to weather forecast.
