French shares edged up on Tuesday, with the benchmark Paris CAC 40 up 0.81 percent, or 44.13 points, to close at 5,521.31 points.

Twenty-nine of the 40 selected large companies gained in the day.

International tire luxury group Kering advanced 1.97 percent, the top gainers of the blue chips. International communication service group Publicis rose 1.85 percent, followed by French transnational energy group Total which gained 1.84 percent.

French digital service company Atos went down by 10.41 percent, the top loser of the blue chips. Vivendi, a French international group focused on media, content creation and communications, lost 0.64 percent, while French industrial group Legrand edged down 0.63 percent. Enditem
