British shares up 0.75 pct Wednesday
British stocks increased on Wednesday, with the benchmark FTSE 100 Index up by 0.75 percent, or 58.17 points, to close at 7776.65 points.
Prudential, a British multinational life insurance and financial services company, soared 3.67 percent, the top gainer of the blue chips. Standard Life Aberdeen and Micro Focus International increased by 3.17 percent and 2.72 percent respectively.
Paddy Power Betfair, a bookmaking business, was the worst performer in the blue chips, with its shares losing 7.14 percent. Ocado Group, a British online supermarket, dropped 0.94 percent. London Stock Exchange Group fell 0.64 percent. Enditem
