Tokyo stocks retreat marginally in morning
Tokyo stocks dropped marginally Monday morning as Shanghai stocks pulling back late last week weighed on the market mood.
The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average shed 39.92 points, or 0.18 percent, from Friday to 22,230.46.
The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange, meanwhile, edged down 6.29 points, or 0.37 percent, at 1,691.24.
Warehousing and harbor transportation service, nonferrous metal and metal product-oriented issues comprised those that declined the most by the morning break.
