Spanish shares lost on Thursday with the benchmark stock market index Ibex-35 down 1 percent or 92.60 points, to 9,208.70 points.

A total of 29 of the selected 35 large companies lost in the day.

Hotel chain Melia Hotels lost 3.25 percent, consultancy and technology company Indra A went down 2.86 percent and Spain's second largest bank BBVA decreased by 2.52 percent.

Casing company Viscofan advanced 1.56 percent and real estate companies Inmobiliaria Colonial and Merlin went up 0.37 percent and 0.25 percent respectively. Enditem
